Ever since she can remember, Hazel wanted to write.

“I remember at school, when I was very young, deciding to rewrite the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. I was always telling myself tales on my way to and from school.”
​
But, as so often happens, life got in the way and it wasn’t until recent years that Hazel finally set about writing her debut novel Summerchester Secrets – a romance set in a seaside market town which was published in 2016.
​
She was delighted when it received international recognition, winning Best Romance Novel at a prestigious book awards. The Next Generation Indie Book Awards is one of the biggest international book awards for independent writers. “I was so pleased – these book awards are judged by New York literary agents, one who has worked with Stephen King, and other within the publishing world and it was really the first professional evaluation I’d had, so it was excellent.”

Hazel is getting ready to publish her third book, 'Welcome Falls,' which is based in Florida – in between her full-time job as a Consultant Nurse in liver disease in Dorset, on the south coast of England. She finds time to dedicate to her books in the evenings and at weekends, but says a lot of her writing is done on holiday in Florida, so it seemed natural to base her next book there.

Hazel has had nothing but positive feedback from those who have read her books.
Since her award winning first novel she has published a second novel based in Bath and London called Letting Go, and two other stories set back in Summerchester.
