About Hazel
Hazel Elizabeth Allen lives on the South Coast of England with her husband, retired BBC Radio presenter, David Allen.

She was born in London but grew up in Bath, where she attended Oldfield Girls School. Spending her formative years in this beautiful city, with its historic architecture, has inspired and influenced her writing.

Hazel is a Consultant Nurse in Liver Disease, has worked for the NHS for over 30 years and has been in her current post for the majority of her career. She leads a team of nurses who provide a service across the whole of the county of Dorset, on the the South Coast of the UK. Hazel has received national and local awards for her work.

An alumni of Southampton University, after studying there for her Master’s degree in Health Education and Promotion, she has a special interest in public health and is a Policy Advisor and Patron of the Dorset based National Liver Disease Charity Liver4Life.

Hazel loves walking, especially along the coastal paths of the south coast and North Devon. It is often on these walks that she formulate many of my best story ideas.

Summerchester Secrets was her debut novel, which has been acclaimed as Winner in the ROMANCE category of the 2016 Next Generation Indie Book Awards. She is currently getting ready to publish her next novel Welcome Falls, which is set in Florida.
